Orion classe 1975 vive e lavora a Padova. Fin dai primi anni ’90 ha cercato di dare originalità al proprio lettering con uno studio basato sul taglio dei piani per ricavarne lettere. Inizialmente i suoi lavori avevano forme semplici e morbide facilmente leggibili, suscitando per questo l’interesse di un pubblico che spesso si trova in difficoltà a tradurre il linguaggio del writing.In seguito, grazie all’esperienza maturata con la partecipazione a diversi festival di graffiti in Italia, Europa ed America Latina, inizia a ricavare il proprio lettering incastrando stick geometrici e creando forme che riportano all’architettura, più che alla leggibilità del proprio nome.
Tra i festival ai quali ha partecipato si ricordano in particolare i Meeting of Style di Zagabria, Zurigo, Wiesbaden e Porto Alegre, Caminho de graffiti a Rio de Janeiro e tra le opere, frutto delle innumerevoli collaborazioni con enti pubblici, si possono ammirare ancora oggi: la parete realizzata sul caval cavia Borgomagno e quella del centro sportivo Brentelle a Padova.
Orion ha partecipato anche a diverse esposizioni, si ricorda in particolare Urbanize me 2011 alla Galleria Civica Cavour di Padova.
Orion was born in 1975 and lives and works in Padua. Since the 1990s he has attempted to confer originality on his lettering with a study based on plane cutting to produce letters.
Initially his work was simple and soft in form and easy to read thus prompting the interest of a public which frequently finds Writing’s languages difficult to translate.
Subsequently, thanks to experience gained taking part in various graffiti festivals in Italy, Europe and Latin America, he began to generate his own lettering incorporating geometric sticks and creating forms which are traceable to the architecture rather than the readability of his name.
The festivals he has taken part in include Meetings of Style in Zagreb, Zurich, Wiesbaden and Porto Alegre and Caminho de graffiti in Rio de Janeiro and his work has included a great many public commissions which can still be seen today: the wall on Borgomagno’s bypass and that at Bretelle Sports Ground in Padua.
